Black Sea Coast: Green Mountains & Mist
Turkey's Black Sea region is dramatically different from the rest of the country. Dense forests, tea plantations, misty highland plateaus (yaylalar), and ancient monasteries clinging to cliff faces create a mood-rich filming environment reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands or Norwegian fjords.
Key Filming Locations
Sumela Monastery
A 1,600-year-old Greek Orthodox monastery carved into a sheer cliff face at 1,200 meters in the Altındere Valley. One of Turkey's most dramatic architectural sights.
Ayder Plateau
A highland village at 1,350 meters surrounded by alpine meadows and waterfalls. Traditional wooden houses and thermal springs create an idyllic mountain setting.
Uzungöl
A picturesque lake nestled in a valley surrounded by dense forest and mountains. The misty, atmospheric conditions create natural mood lighting.
Trabzon & Rize Tea Gardens
Rolling hills covered in vibrant green tea plantations overlooking the Black Sea. The geometric patterns of tea gardens provide stunning aerial footage.
